If you’ve been wondering what happened to Beautycounter after they unexpectedly shut down last year, they’re back, but now simply called Counter. After stepping away from the market last year, the brand relaunched on June 25, 2025 with a curated lineup of 20-ish products, focused on their bestsellers and clean beauty essentials.

What’s Back in Stock

I’ll walk you through the full 20-product lineup and what each product is, and which skin type it’s designed for.

Counterglow (formerly Countermatch)

  • Silky Skin Cleanser – a creamy, gentle yet effective cleanser that melts makeup while nourishing skin.
  • Hyaluronic Moisture Mist – a versatile mist that functions as both toner and hydrator with micro hyaluronic acids.
  • Tri-luronic Hydrating Serum – a plumping booster combining three types of hyaluronic acid for lush hydration.
  • Hyaluronic Cushion Cream – Visibly plumps and hydrates skin with this cushiony cream that helps nourish and strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Adaptive Moisture Lotion – skin-smart hydration that adjusts with your skin’s needs.

Countertime (anti-aging focus)

Brightening & Exfoliating

Makeup Favorites

“Vintage Clean”

These are products in old packaging that they’re still selling through; all of these are marked as FINAL SALE.

How to Shop

You can shop the full Counter line here. Counter ships primarily via their website – no Amazon, Ulta, or Target partnerships this time around – and currently offers free shipping on orders over $50. You can also purchase a few Counter products from Goop. They also have a simpler loyalty program (that’s free) vs. the former Band of Beauty. You’ll earn a $15 product credit for every $200 spent, along with special birthday perks.

My Favorite Counter Products That Returned

While I’ve moved away from using most of Counter’s products (more on that below), I was excited to see some of my old favorites make the cut to return.

  • All Bright Vitamin C Serum – This was one of the first Vitamin C serums I tried that actually gave my skin a noticeable glow. Lightweight, layered well under makeup, and really brightened my complexion.
  • Overnight Resurfacing Peel – A cult-favorite for a reason. It’s gentle enough to use regularly, but strong enough that you wake up with smoother, fresher-looking skin.
  • Skin Twin Foundation – This was the first foundation I ever liked. It has buildable coverage, a natural finish, and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

Why I’m Not Using Counter Anymore

Even though I still appreciate what Counter stands for – clean, safer beauty – I’ve personally moved on to other brands. I LOVE my current skincare routine, and for me, it came down to a few things:

  • Ingredients & innovation: I’ve found other brands that push the envelope more with botanicals and results-driven formulations (like Oliveda, which I now use daily).
  • Limited makeup options: They still haven’t brought back some of their best makeup products, like non-toxic powder blush and bronzer (which they discontinued years ago).
  • Results: Some of Counter’s products just don’t give me the results I see from other skincare routines I’ve adopted.

That said, if you’ve been missing Beautycounter, at least there are some options available. And, there are some “vintage clean” (The old Beautycounter backstock) products that are still available.

What about all the other products?

They will be rolling out more over time, but the plan is to keep the lineup simpler and tighter.  I don’t believe they’ll re-launch some of the more niche products, like men’s lines, or shampoo and conditioner.

Bottom line: I’m glad Counter is back for those who loved their products, but for my own skin and routine, I’ve moved in a different direction. Still, if Countertime or the Overnight Resurfacing Peel were your holy grails, now’s your chance to stock up again.
