I’ve used Oliveda for three-plus years now. My skin still looks better than it did in year one.
I test new skincare constantly. Dozens of products from high-end brands land on my desk every month for me to try and potentially feature. I still buy Oliveda with my own money every time I run out. Below, I’m breaking down every product I’ve tried, and further down, my real verdict on whether the whole line is worth it (including what I’d skip).
My Oliveda Skincare review
Oliveda is part of the Olive Tree People family, along with their hemp-focused LA Dope line. If you’re searching for Olive Tree People reviews, you’ll find some of that here too. It has a lot to do with the potency of the formulations — no water added means no dilution of active ingredients.
My 3-Year Oliveda Before & After
When I first posted these photos, people accused me of editing them. I hadn’t — three years later, I still haven’t, and the results have held.
The biggest change is my skin texture and fine lines, especially around my smile lines and eyes. That’s usually the slowest thing to shift in a skincare routine, and it’s kept improving well past the first few months.
The formulas are also just really hydrating. I noticed that within my first few uses back when I started, and three years in, my skin still holds onto moisture all day the same way.
What’s kept me buying with my own money for three years is the ingredient list. I’ll get into exactly what’s in these products below, but that’s the short version of why I’ve stuck with it this long.
The Best Oliveda Products
Oliveda has almost 90 products in its lineup, so deciding what to get can be overwhelming. And since the company is based in Europe, the names of its products are also a bit confusing. Their anti-aging line is called “corrective,” for example. When I first heard it, I thought the corrective line was for oily or breakout-prone skin.
To simplify things, I’m breaking down the best products in each category: cleansers, serums, moisturizers, and more — along with which ones work best for each skin type. I’ve also written a full guide to layering your Oliveda products if you want the order right. The great thing about Oliveda is that nothing is truly exclusive to one skin type — think of it as “good, better, best” regarding your goals. The most basic cleanser will still work for you if you have dry, mature skin, but you’ll benefit more from an anti-aging cleanser.

Oliveda Cleansers
Oliveda really encourages double-cleansing, which means washing your face with an oil to remove makeup and then following with a foaming, gel cleanser. If you only get one, get a gel cleanser.
009 Dope Your Glow Deep Cleanser – Sensitive, aging, normal skin – My Top Pick
Gentle yet thorough, this cleanser melts away dirt while calming skin. Hemp and hydroxytyrosol cleanse without stripping. I love it because it’s deep-cleansing yet soothing enough for sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Corrective Cleansing Oil (F72) – Dry, aging skin
This is an oil-based cleanser made with olive fruit oil and lavender oil, so it’s nourishing and calming. Plus, it smells amazing.
If you’re looking for a true cleansing oil, I’d definitely choose this one. That said, I still use my Colleen Rothschild cleansing balm at night to take off my makeup. It’s a better fit for a gentle, hydrating cleanse than an oil. (I have a full Colleen Rothschild cleansing balm review if you want to dig deeper.)
Arbequina Cleansing Oil (F78) – Normal or combination Skin
This is an oil-based cleanser for normal or combination skin that’s meant to nourish and hydrate while removing impurities. But honestly, I didn’t love it; the formula didn’t glide over my skin the way I want an oil cleanser to, so it’s not one I’d repurchase.
Corrective Cleansing Gel (F71) – Dry, aging skin
This cleanser is great for mature, aging skin. It’s super gentle, really hydrating, and it has the best light, natural scent (not strong at all, which I love since I’m sensitive to fragrance). I really like this one, but if I had to pick a favorite, I still love the LA Dope Cleanser best because it’s the most gentle and moisturizing.
Purifying Cleansing Gel (F38) – Normal or combination skin
I haven’t personally tried this one since it’s not really ideal for my skin type, but I also haven’t heard anything negative about it. It’s a foaming cleanser for normal or combination skin that gives a deeper cleanse while still delivering concentrated antioxidants to help prevent signs of aging. If you have oily or breakout-prone skin though, I’d personally recommend the Colleen Rothschild Gentle & Clear line instead.
Oliveda Toners
Oliveda calls their toners “Tonics” so when you see that, know that it’s the second step in your routine.
Corrective Facial Tonic (F67) – Dry, aging skin – My Top Pick
If you’re looking for a hydrating toner, this is the one. You use it right after cleansing to prep your skin for whatever serum/elixir you’re using next, and I use it daily because it seriously helps my skin hold onto moisture all day. I legit LOVE it. And for context, I was sent the $230 Vintner’s Daughter essence and I still prefer this. It’s more hydrating, and it smells a lot better.
Activating Facial Toner (F11) – Normal, combination skin
This one is meant to be non-drying and non-stripping. It’s more of a balancing product that helps restore your skin’s natural balance. I haven’t personally tried it though.
Oliveda Serums
Corrective Serum Face (F59) – Dry, aging skin – My TOP pick
Oliveda F59 is what people call “Botox in a Bottle”, and it’s my favorite Oliveda product. It’s made with concentrated hydroxytyrosol (the super powerful antioxidant we discussed above) combined with para cress extract, an ingredient that lifts and smooths your skin. It also builds collagen.
I’ve had botox, and I wouldn’t go as far as to say Oliveda’s Botox in a Bottle is just like it. HOWEVER, I do think it’s wildly effective for fine lines. You can see before and after photos in my Oliveda F59 review.
Cell Active Serum (F06) – Normal, combination skin
This serum helps smooth your skin and reduce pore size, but it mainly reduces dark spots and smoothes wrinkles. It’s an all around great serum for all skin types. While anyone can use the F59 Corrective Face Serum (aka Botox in a Bottle), you may not really need the anti-aging benefits yet, so this would be a great option. It’s similar but not as concentrated as F59, making it more affordable.
Oliveda Elixirs
Oliveda calls its retinol products Elixirs. They are similar to serums in terms of benefits, but they’re made to be mixed with serums. When used together, you will get better results than applying just one or the other or when layering them vs. mixing.
For mature or aging skin, these are your best options:
Corrective Midnight Elixir (F65) – Fish derived retinol
If you’ve already used retinol in the past and love the effects, then you will love this. It’s a natural form of retinol that’s derived from fish. Since it is an animal-based form of vitamin A, it is metabolized into retinol.
It can only be used at night, and it’s Oliveda’s strongest retinol option. I bought this for one month and didn’t dislike it but I definitely didn’t like it as much as the Kahai Elixir, which is nourishing, smells amazing and makes my skin look and feel great.
Corrective Kahai Elixir (F87) – Nut-derived retinol (My Top Pick)
I absolutely love this product. It’s so hydrating and feels like the most luxurious product in their line-up. It’s never drying, smells great, and improves skin’s appearance without any peeling, which is more common with traditional retinols.
Green Retinol Face Elixir (F82) – Bakuchiol, a retinol alternative
This is Oliveda’s most gentle “retinol” option, and I think of it more as a retinol alternative. It’s a blend of bakuchiol (retinol alternative) + kahai oil (a natural source of vitamin A).
It’s meant to help with fine lines, pores, complexion, and pigmentation. It does have a very unique scent (kind of olive-oil-ish, which makes sense). However, I don’t recommend this one; I’ve seen it make a lot of people break out, so I’d skip it unless you know your skin does well with these ingredients.
Oliveda Moisturizers
Corrective Face Cream (F42) – AM for mature, aging skin
This day cream is marketed for dry/aging skin because it has extra hydroxytyrosol (a really powerful antioxidant), and it’s supposed to be soothing, help with elasticity, and reduce fine lines. It even contains a sun protection factor, and a little goes a long way. That said, I personally didn’t find it hydrating enough for my dry skin, so I’d say it’s probably a better fit for normal skin types.
Anti Oxidant Face Cream (F05) – AM for normal or combination skin
This is a great everyday moisturizer for younger or normal skin types. I haven’t personally tried it since it’s not the best match for my skin type, but it looks like a solid option if you’re not super dry.
Regeneration Intense Face Cream (F74) – Night cream for all skin types
The texture is weird and it takes some getting used to how it’s applied and massaged in, but now I love it. For details, read my Oliveda F74 review. This is one of Oliveda’s more hydrating moisturizers. It reduces redness and helps balance the skin. Just use a very small amount of this – a little goes a long way. I’ve tried UBeauty’s Super Hydrator and Irene Forte’s Hibiscus Night Cream, both of which cost way more, and still prefer F74.
Oliveda Eye Cream
Oliveda F60 Corrective Eye Cream – Mature, aging skin
I bought this once and still went back to my favorite eye cream, the OneSkin Topical Eye Supplement. I didn’t dislike the F60 but it didn’t wow me in hydration, texture or results. This eye cream is designed to help boost your collagen and decrease under-eye shadows.
Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream (F09) – Normal or combination skin
This is a basic eye cream. I liked the texture and it’s completely non-irritating so it’s a good option for younger skin. It tightens and reduces fine lines around your eye area.
Oliveda F64 Corrective Eye Elixir – All skin types
Now this is a must-have in my eye area routine. It’s the Botox in a Bottle answer for your eyes. It has a triple-hyaluronic acid structure and a ton of antioxidants, so it hydrates and plumps while giving your eyes a more lifted, radiant look. You can apply this underneath your eye cream or use it alone. (I prefer to layer an eye cream on top for a little extra moisture.)
Add-on products for all skin types
Corrective Vegan Hyaluronic Acid Serum (F86)
I’m not too picky with hyaluronic acid serums since I feel like they’re all about the same once you get into the luxury skincare category, so I liked this one just as much as others I’ve used.
Hyaluronic serums are great for dry and aging skin because they deeply hydrate and plump the skin. This one also helps repair oxidative damage and supports elasticity, so skin looks smoother and feels more firm. I love layering it under my other serums when I need extra hydration.
Acne SOS Face Drops (F85)
These drops unclog pores, balance sebum production, and reduce acne-causing bacteria. They contain salicylic acid, which is ideal for fighting and preventing acne. I have heard great things about this, but haven’t personally tried it because I don’t have major problems with acne.
AHA + HT Serum Face (F81)
Use chemical exfoliator 1-2 times per week at night. It’s a true hero product. It fades scarring and hyperpigmentation. My skin also looks firmer since I started using it. It’s great for breakout-prone skin because it gently exfoliates and sloughs off dead skin, which can cause build-up and breakouts. If you used Beautycounter, this is very similar to the Overnight Resurfacing Peel – but I think it’s better since it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and tight the next morning.
HT + Vitamin C Serum (F83)
Oliveda’s Vitamin C serum is made with hydroxytyrosol, a superpowerful antioxidant, and it also contains camu camu. Because of the hydroxytyrosol, this has 1300% more power than vitamin C alone. It’s noticeably softened my fine lines, and my skin looks brighter overall. It also has carrot extract in it, which makes it red, which is fun. My favorite vitamin C serum is Nature Biss, but this one is a fraction of the price, so it’s a much more affordable option to my pricey favorite. Honey Enzyme Face Mask (F76)
This face mask removes dead skin cells so that the rest of your skincare products can absorb better. This is especially beneficial for dry and/or aging skin since you’re paying more for those types of products and you want to get the most out of them. (The women who give me my facials have been telling me for years that I need to use an enzyme mask regularly to see improvements in my fine lines and deeper wrinkles).
I also love that it has a warming sensation. I usually hate applying masks because they take a long time and are messy, but I actually look forward to using them since I enjoy the sensory experience. And it’s bright green, which always makes me feel like I’m doing something. My skin feels incredibly soft and smooth after I use it too.
Olive Core Face Peeling (F10)
This is a physical face exfoliator. It’s a superfine facial scrub that helps remove dead skin cells and gives you a fresh, glowy complexion. It’s fine and definitely does the job, but I still prefer the Dual Enzyme Polish from Colleen Rothschild. However, Olive Core does use cleaner ingredients, so if that’s your top priority, know that this does work well. Olive Tree Therapy Lip Balm (F75)
This is the best daytime lip balm I’ve ever used. It’s super hydrating like any lip balm should be, but it also makes my lips look full, almost like I’ve had lip filler (I haven’t). I love it so much I wrote a full Oliveda Lip Balm review. I’ve also noticed that the redness around the outside of my lips improves when I apply this. If you want an overnight mask, go for the One Skin peptide lip mask. It noticeably plumps my lips and softens fine lines by morning.
Is Oliveda Worth It? (And What I’d Skip)
Yes. Three years in, and I really do use my own money on my favorite products when I run out. But it’s not a perfect line, and I’d rather tell you what’s not worth it in my opinion vs. pretend everything is.
The eye cream didn’t make the cut for me. I bought it once, moved onto another eye cream and never repurchased. However, to be fair, I am inherently picky when it comes to eye creams. My eyes are super sensitive and it’s hard for me to find something I love in this category in general.
Cleansing oils are the other skip for me. I’ve tried a couple, and I just keep finding my way back to my usual Colleen Rothschild balm. I just can’t quit it. The Oliveda oil formulas just don’t glide the way I want them to.
The packaging can also be a pain. Some bottles are tricky to open. Not a dealbreaker, but I have answered more than one email from a customer who can’t open a product. No one wants to be wrestling with a cap in their bathroom only to have half of it spill by the time you get it open.
What About the Ingredients and Fragrance?
The ingredient-skeptic sites will tell you hydroxytyrosol is nothing special and that it’s just an antioxidant, nothing revolutionary. This has not been my experience. It’s the one ingredient that ties every product together, and it’s the reason the formulas feel so concentrated without needing a bunch of other active ingredients layered on top. On fragrance: I’m sensitive to it, and I still use Oliveda daily with zero issues. Most of their products have a light, natural scent instead of a heavy perfume smell. In the US, though, “fragrance” on a label is a loophole. Brands can hide almost anything behind it, including endocrine disruptors and allergens.
The EU doesn’t work that way. Every ingredient has to be tested for safety first, fragrance included, even though it still doesn’t get listed by name on the label. Oliveda uses the word “fragrance” too, but because of that EU testing requirement, it’s not the same red flag it is on a US ingredient list.

Is Oliveda worth it?
Yes, for me, three-plus years of buying it with my own money is proof of that. It’s best if you want visible anti-aging results that build over time and don’t mind paying a premium for concentrated formulas. If you want something dramatic overnight, look elsewhere. I get into exactly what’s worth it and what I’d skip in the section above.
Is Oliveda legit? Does it actually work?
Yes. My before and after photos are three years of real, unedited results, not one flattering photo from a good lighting day. The results have held up over years of daily use, not just a launch-week glow.
What is Oliveda skincare?
Oliveda is a German-based clean skincare brand built on olive tree extracts. It’s known for its waterless philosophy — concentrated active ingredients without the water and preservatives that can dilute potency or irritate skin (more on that below).
Founder Thomas Lommel started the company after his own experience with olive-based products. His first product was the I01 Elixir, a drinkable supplement. He built out the skincare line after that, believing what’s good on the inside is good on the outside too.
What does Oliveda mean?
The name comes from the Latin word for olive, olivae. Every product is made with olive leaf extract, which is also why the line calls itself waterless.
What ingredients are in Oliveda products?
The core ingredient across the whole line is hydroxytyrosol, an olive leaf extract. What Oliveda leaves out matters just as much: water.
Hydroxytyrosol is loaded with antioxidants, which helps protect skin from environmental damage and fade the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. It’s also anti-inflammatory, and research has linked it to lower risk of coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis.(source)
Because hydroxytyrosol is the base of the formulas, nearly every ingredient in an Oliveda product is active — that’s a big part of the glow people notice. Oliveda also uses olive oil in their Internals and Mediterranean herbs like their Olivemush coffee substitute, but the skincare line is what’s gone viral.
What is waterless skincare?
Water isn’t a bad ingredient, it just needs preservatives and emulsifiers to stabilize a formula. Removing it as the main base means the active ingredients aren’t diluted. There is more detail in this waterless formulation breakdown if you want the science.
Is Oliveda really waterless?
You’ll actually see water listed on Oliveda’s ingredient labels because it’s a natural byproduct of extracting hydroxytyrosol from the olive leaf. But Oliveda never adds water directly, and you won’t see it as the No. 1 ingredient like you do with a lot of other brands, including ones I use and love.
There’s nothing wrong with water in a formula. But Oliveda’s olive leaf extract base means the rest of the active ingredients are more concentrated, about 95% of their products are bioactive. A little goes a long way; it took me a while to adjust to using less product than I was used to.
Is Oliveda a clean beauty brand?
Yes. As a German company, Oliveda follows EU beauty safety standards, which ban more than 1,700 ingredients compared to the 11 the US bans. That mattered even more to me while breastfeeding.
One thing to note: because Oliveda is a European brand, some ingredient terms are labeled differently than what you’re used to seeing on US products.
Is Oliveda all-natural?
Not entirely, but it leans that way. Oliveda uses raw materials from its own organic olive trees, and its formulas are bioactive and mostly organic, though there are some synthetic ingredients in the mix.
Natural doesn’t automatically mean safe, though — lead is natural too. What matters is ingredient testing, and that’s where the EU standards, and Oliveda really deliver a difference.
Is the fragrance in Oliveda safe?
Yes. I’m sensitive to fragrance and use Oliveda daily without any problems. I go into exactly why it’s listed in the ingredients and fragrance breakdown above.
What about retinol?
In the US, we’re told to avoid retinol during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so seeing “retinol” on an Oliveda label can be jarring. In the EU, safe alternatives like bakuchiol get tested, approved, and still labeled retinol — Beautycounter used bakuchiol in their Countertime line the same way (more on that).
Oliveda has four hydroxytyrosol elixirs labeled with the word retinol:
F65 Corrective Midnight Elixir: Fish-derived retinol
F82 Green Retinol Face Elixir: Bakuchiol
F87 Corrective Kahai Elixir: Nut-derived Kahai oil retinol from the Cacay tree
004 LA DOPE Your Wrinkles Face Oil Serum: This contains hemp, which is excellent for sensitive skin because it’s anti-inflammatory and calming. Its strength is somewhere between the Kahai and Midnight elixers
Three of these contain a natural form of vitamin A. It’s a personal call whether you want to avoid that, but Beautycounter, with even stricter standards than the EU used bakuchiol too, so I feel good using the F82 especially.
Is Oliveda pregnancy-safe?
Yes, all Oliveda products are pregnancy-safe, though it’s smart to be extra cautious with any retinol, even a natural one, while pregnant.
The Midnight Elixir is the one I’d personally be more cautious with — it’s fish-derived, so it does metabolize into a form of retinol, unlike the plant-based options. The AHA + HT Serum also contains salicylic acid, worth checking with your doctor first.
As always, talk to your doctor and trust your gut. Gigi Hadid switched to Oliveda while pregnant for the same reason — she wanted clean skincare.
How long until you see results from Oliveda?
When I first started, I noticed a difference after about three uses, though that’ll vary person to person. Give it a few weeks at least before deciding whether it’s working for you.
What are Oliveda Internals?
Oliveda also makes supplements called Internals, built on the same hydroxytyrosol base as their skincare. They’re not just for your skin — they also help with inflammation and joint pain. Think of it as skincare from the inside out. I wrote up my full thoughts in my Oliveda Internals review.
Does Oliveda sell makeup?
Yes! Oliveda also has a makeup line called Olive Rose, which feels like an extension of their skincare since it’s hydrating, and designed to enhance your natural glow. I tested the full collection and shared all my thoughts in my Olive Rose Makeup Review and my Olive Rose Skin Tint post.
What other products does Oliveda sell?
Beyond skincare and makeup, Oliveda also has body and hair care. I share my favorite hair oil in this post.
Are Oliveda and LA Dope the same thing?
Oliveda is the “core” skincare line, built for dry skin, repair, and anti-aging. LA Dope is the hemp-focused line, more calming and clarifying, and better for irritated or breakout-prone skin. Both fall under the Olive Tree People umbrella and both use waterless, hydroxytyrosol-based formulas.
Is Oliveda an MLM?

i use f59 and f42 ….when do i use f83?
F83 is a vitamin C serum which is best used in the AM since it protects your skin from the environment you’re in all day long — it’s fine at night, but you just don’t get as much bang for your buck. I’d use the F59 at night as your PM serum and then use F83 in the AM as your morning serums. I hope that helps.
I have f59, f63, f82 and f06.
Each says to use every morning and night.
Which goes on first,etc
Hi! Good question. F59 and F06 are very similar to each other, so I only recommend that you use one of those. F59 is the”botox in a bottle” that’s designed for dry/aging skin. F06 is similar but designed for combination skin. So pick one of those to use depending on your skin type. You can combine the F63 oil to whichever of the two serums you use since that’s a face oil that provides hydration. F82 is a retinol-like product that you’ll also combine with whichever serum you use. You won’t want to combine the serum, oil, AND elixir, so I’d alternate days where you combine your serum with the elixir, and then the next day combine it with the oil. I hope this helps!

Hi! While there’s not a product dedicated to the neck area, I always recommend applying your serums and elixirs (Oliveda’s retinol-like products) to your face and neck, down to the décolleté. Same with sunscreen and moisturizer. It’s important to keep SPF on the neck since it’s exposed just as often as the face!

My biggest question for you is what is the scent like? I’ve been using Alitura Naturals and Primally Pure products (both of which i love, are clean and use natural oils to fragrance) but my husband can’t seem to get past the smell of the blue tansy oil and many of the oils in Primally Pure Products.
I’m hoping the scent in Oliveda isn’t too strong! How would you describe it? I heard someone say tobacco or nicotine-like for the vitamin c serum. I’m just curious your take on smells. I’m leaning toward F06 (or F59) and the F07. I’m looking for a good night cream!

Hi Amber! Good question. Each Oliveda product smells a little different, and I do agree that the Vitamin C smells a bit strange (I think it smells a bit like iron), but I’ve actually enjoyed the scent of everything else. Everything has a “botanical” smell in my opinion. I’m incredibly sensitive to scents and haven’t struggled with anything from Oliveda.
Do you receive payment from this company to provide positive reviews? It seems that bloggers and reviewers always provide glowing feedback, but when I dig deeper, I often find that the product doesn’t live up to the hype. I’m skeptical of beauty product reviews and don’t put much trust in photos, given the use of filters, lighting, and injectables that can create misleading before-and-after comparisons.
Hi Sue! Good question! I don’t get any payment for giving Oliveda a positive review, but I do make a commission from any sales I make through the links in this post (like affiliate marketing). If I recommended something that wasn’t a good product, that would hurt my business because I’d lose credibility with my recommendations, and since Oliveda has free returns, someone could easily return the product they didn’t like and get their money back (and I would not make anything on that sale). It wouldn’t be very good business of me to recommend products that aren’t something I personally like! I try my best to be as transparent as possible about skincare recommendations since I do know that it’s hard to believe everything you hear. I feel great about promoting Oliveda since I personally use it and have gotten great results (and since you can return products for free, there’s no risk in trying them yourself!). How much will a complete set of Olevada skin care products, for aging skin, cost?
Hi! The cost can vary depending on which products you choose, but for an anti-aging routine using Oliveda, most people start with 3–5 products. A basic set might include a facial serum (like F59), a face elixir (like F65), the cleansing gel, and sometimes an eye elixir and perhaps the i66 internal elixir. Altogether, you’re looking at around $150–$250+ depending on your selections.

Thank you for the review. I used Beauty Counter before they dropped off, then I switched to Oliveda. I’m out of all products and need to re-up everything. I was on the fence about which one to use, but I think I’m going to go with Oliveda. I love their products. I need help with pinpointing what products I should get. I’m 54 with dry skin. I would like to lessen some darker spots and ease wrinkles and tighten the skin around my mouth. I feel like my neck is a lost cause even though I still try.
I know that you blogged about which products are good for aging, but I’d like to ask you for what you think I should absolutely have. I’m willing to spend the money for the products that will really help me.

I haven’t but that sounds like an allergic reaction. I’d stop using whatever new product you added in.
