I’ve been addicted to lip balm for as long as I can remember—partly because I grew up in the desert (hello, dry everything) and partly because I was unknowingly using products that made the problem worse (looking at you Vaseline, which I slathered on daily). A lot of conventional lip balms contain ingredients that feel soothing at first but actually dry out your lips over time, so you reapply constantly and never actually get ahead.

Some of the worst offenders are ingredients like menthol, camphor, phenol, and salicylic acid. They can be irritating or exfoliating in a way that strips your lips instead of helping them heal. Even petroleum jelly (aka Vaseline) is in tons of popular drugstore brands, and just sits on top of the skin without delivering any real moisture. Some well-known lip balms—like Carmex, ChapStick Classic, and even some versions of Burt’s Bees—use these ingredients (yikes), so it’s no wonder your lips stay chapped and you keep buying and reapplying.

Oliveda Lip Balm – The Best Lip Balm I’ve Ever Used

That’s why discovering the Oliveda Lip Balm felt like breaking a lifelong habit. After I used Oliveda skincare and saw the difference it made for my face (you can read my full Oliveda review here), I immediately wanted to try their Green Olive Tree Lip Therapy. But it was sold out. Naturally.

When I finally got my hands on it (and then got it on my lips), I was shocked by the transformation in my lips right away. It goes on like a balm but wears like a lightweight treatment mask. It’s hydrating, healing, and improves my lips’ appearance right away and even more over time. The texture is smooth and cushiony, never sticky or waxy, and it stays put surprisingly well. I also noticed that it lessened the redness around my lips that I often cover up with concealer.

Oliveda uses olive tree actives like olea europaea fruit oil (which is rich in squalane and helps the skin barrier), tocopherol (Vitamin E), and other nourishing compounds. The lip balm formula also includes sunflower oil, castor oil, bisabolol, and olive oil extract, which work together to calm, repair, and deeply hydrate. The result? Lips that look naturally fuller, more defined, and way less needy.

Oliveda Lip Balm – Before & After

I dab a little of the balm on with my fingertip, and it has completely changed how my lips look and feel. The light scent is fresh with hints of olive and coconut—subtle and natural. The first time I applied it, I felt like I had gotten lip filler– that’s how much better my lips looked.

Here’s a photo before I applied the balm and one after. Don’t my lips look so much fuller and more hydrated?

My only complaint? It comes in a glass tub, which isn’t ideal for on-the-go use—I don’t love dipping my fingers in when I’m out and about. So it’s a balm I keep at home and apply with clean hands, but even with that one drawback, it’s absolutely worth it. (If you want a balm for using on the go, this Lines Lip Serum is just as good, but it’s more expensive for a smaller amount, so I don’t use it as often.)

If you’re trying to clean up your beauty routine like I have, Oliveda has been a game-changer—not just for lip care, but across the board. I use this balm every day alongside my skincare routine and Crunchi makeup, which are both non-toxic and actually perform. It’s taken some trial and error to find clean products that work, but Oliveda keeps impressing me—from their F59 serum to their internal supplements, and now this little pot of Green Olive Tree Lip Therapy. It isn’t a cheap brand, so be sure to read how to save money on Oliveda.

It’s the first lip balm that’s truly helped break the cycle of constant reapplication, and that’s something I wish I’d found years ago.
