This time last year, I was officially into my third trimester with baby #2 and everything was starting to feel VERY real. One of the things that made my last trimester so much more fun last year was discovering Pink Blush Maternity clothes. Throughout both of my pregnancies, I didn’t typically like true maternity clothes since the majority of them were boring or looked the same at every retailer. Also, since I am petite (5’1″), most maternity brands drown my frame. If you’re also petite, you’ll want to read my blog post on the 6 best petite maternity jeans on the market.
In today’s post, I’m sharing my experience with PinkBlush maternity clothes in my third trimester.
My immediate reaction after trying on my order was that everything fit SO well. I loved that their pieces were on trend and came in a few different colors. So many maternity brands just sell off-the-shoulder fitted dresses, wrap dresses or giant tunic tops!). Not the case here.
While I was unboxing my order, I filmed a video review of each piece that I shared on YouTube. If you want to see how each item looks in motion, you can find that video here on YouTube or click play below. You can probably sense my true surprise at how much I liked them.
If photos are more your speed, below you’ll find pictures of everything I tried on. I also include the sizing details and tips. I shared a few other Pink Blush maternity dresses a roundup of maternity photoshoot dresses (both midi and maxi dresses). So, check that out as well.
First on the list is this taupe mock neck midi dress that I wore immediately. I even wore it to my husband’s high school reunion, if that gives you an idea of how confident I feel in it. The color is perfect for fall, and it’s easy to style with many different shoes because of the neutral tone. The mock neck and long sleeves make it appropriate for casual fall or winter events. But the fitted style can also be dressed up for a fun evening event. And of course, because it’s a knit dress, it’s incredibly comfortable. I wore a size small.
The small slit made it very easy to walk in. Also, it kept me from having to pull the dress down all day like I had to do with some fitted midi dresses that rise as you walk. This was by far my favorite find from Pink Blush because I could wear it so many times last season.
Next is the second photo I shared above. If you’re looking for a simple (but slightly sexy) dress to wear for a cocktail event this fall or winter, this mini knit dress is a great find. It’s incredibly flattering and comfortable, and the length is flirty and short which feels like the perfect option for a cocktail party. Of course you could also wear it casually with sneakers too.
However, as I walked, it rode up a little bit, making it even shorter, so there is no way someone tall could wear this. And even being as short as I am (5’1″), I found it too short for my comfort level. If you want to try it, perhaps size up to see if it gets you a little more length. I’m wearing a size small.
Unfortunately, the black is unavailable, but there are two cute other colorways.
I wore this side-slit sweater dress in dark green all winter long last year. Square necklines are so flattering and feminine which is what initially drew me to it, but I also loved the bubble sleeves. I can get self-conscious about my arms when I’m pregnant since I easily gain weight there, and the sleeves helped me feel confident.
The length makes it appropriate for church, a nice dinner, date night, or any evening functions, and the long sleeves are perfect for the cooler weather. (See more maternity cocktail-style dresses in this post.) This would be a perfect dress for casual fall or winter weddings you have this season. It definitely fits a little longer than the taupe dress above and runs a little large by comparison. I have a size XS.
I was really excited to find this sleeveless mock neck dress because I knew it would be really cute with a blazer. Similarly to the dresses above, it’s fitted and comfortable with a slight sexy edge. I styled this dress with one of my favorite blazers (this Nordstrom option is similar since mine is sold out!) and the look was exactly what I was going for. I got a size medium in this, and even that felt small, so size up two sizes, perhaps.
Below are dresses that I didn’t order but love online.
None of the dresses I ordered from Pink Blush had a waist tie, and it makes me regret not trying this brown tie front midi dress. I love that the tie accentuates your bump and the neutral colors would be super slimming. I’d style this with leather clogs or booties.
This Floral Smocked Long Sleeve Maternity Maxi Dress reminded me a lot of Hill House dresses (read about my Hill House obsession here). The smocking is a traditional style for maternity dresses, but it’s such a flattering, feminine silhouette. The black colorway is perfect for fall photos and would even work well as a Thanksgiving dress.
It’s hard to beat a simple sweater dress, especially when pregnant. They’re so comfortable and relaxed, and they can grow with your bump. This Turtle Neck Maternity Mini Sweater Dress (especially in the Olive color). You could wear this dress with booties, boots, heels, sneakers, loafers, you name it.
This Olive Knit Contrast Top Satin Maternity Midi Dress reminds me me so much of Anthropologie, and I’m SO sad it wasn’t available when I was pregnant last year. The contrasting materials are perfect for the cooler months, and this dress can easily be dressed up or down. I’d wear this dress with heels (and yes, I know heels aren’t great during pregnancy – sue me!). Here are my favorite shoes for pregnancy.
I absolutely LOVED this v-neck long sleeve maternity top. I was just starting to get to the point where my tops and sweaters were getting too short when this arrived and it saved the day. I loved that it was subtly sexy and could easily be dressed up for a date night or dinner with friends. I wore a size small but it was already getting short early in my third trimester.
The next top I added to my cart was this brown ribbed turtleneck. I’ve always loved a turtleneck in the winters, and this brown color was gorgeous in person. It’s fitted and flattering and was actually long enough to cover my bump and maternity jeans band.
Another great maternity top find, but this time it’s a sweater! While you can easily size up in your favorite affordable sweaters for pregnancy, it’s really nice to have a true maternity sweater that fits perfectly. especially when the temps drop significantly. This black bubble sweater is a great simple basic, but the bubble sleeves add just a little bit of extra interest. I wore a size small. I’d size down if you’re on the fence.
I didn’t order these but love them online.
We’ve all seen funnel neck sweaters with this trendy dolman sleeve before, but I find them SO much more beautiful with a bump! Without a bump, I find that there’s too much slouchy material, but a bump fills the sweater so beautifully. You could dress this top with jeans or down with leggings. It comes in a TON of colors, too!
I love that this sweater is longer than most and somewhat fitted, but it’s not skin tight. I don’t want this oversized since I want to be sure my bump shows, so I have a small in my cart.
I’ve always loved stripes, so this Black Striped Knit Half Zip Maternity Sweater caught my eye immediately. Of course you could order and oversized Amazon half zip just like this, but again, it’s nice to have some true maternity options in the winter. It comes in a few colors and would look perfect with leggings and sneakers.
The oversized collar on this Camel Half Zip Chunky Knit Maternity Pullover Sweater is my favorite detail. It’s on trend without being too trendy, and the neutral colorway helps give it a timeless look. This sweater would look great with leggings or jeans.
When I tell you that these dark wash skinny jeans were THE most flattering maternity jeans I found last year, I mean it. And I tried five different brands (and even more styles) for maternity jeans. The material is super stretchy and comfortable, the length works well on my petite frame (I’m 5’1″). They could’ve been hemmed a little so they hit above the ankle bone (the ideal length for skinny jeans), but I never had them altered.
The belly band is smooth and comfortable (and doesn’t show underneath fitted tops), and the wash of the jeans is the perfect color for every single day. It’s both dressy and casual.
However, while these were more flattering than my Madewell maternity skinny jeans, they didn’t stay up as well, and I found myself pulling them up throughout the day. I went up one from my usual, non-pregnancy size, and I probably should have ordered my usual size 25. But if you want a more budget-friendly maternity pair of jeans and don’t mind that, I think the Pink Blush ones are a great option.
I’m a white jeans connoisseur, and these white straight maternity jeans look like something I would’ve LOVED. The color comes across as much creamier than pure white, which is ideal for the cooler weather. I love that the length is slightly cropped (especially because that means they would likely fit my petite frame better), but they’re also much easier to style with any type of shoe.
