Every year, I put together a “Best of Beauty” awards blog post to recap the best products I tried that year (you won’t believe how many products I try each year!). But this year, it dawned on me that I should do the same for all categories!
I share content on social media (and here on the blog) for a living, so I’m constantly testing out new products and trying to find things worth recommending to you. This roundup covers everything from the best fashion pieces in my wardrobe to cleaning supplies I can’t live without (and kid’s products), and I also included my best and worst moments of the year, just for fun.
Okay, without too much more chit-chat, here’s the list!
Yes, just the style in general. I found so many great pairs of jeans this year, and wide legs were my favorite style. Read this post to see how I style wide leg jeans. I have a handful of favorite pairs, but if you made me pick just one, I’d say the Kut from the Kloth Meg style was my most-worn.
Anything patriotic is my jam, including this tan American Flag Sweater. I wear a size small. Beau & Ro was generous enough to gift it, and I’ve worn it non-stop since it arrived. It’s cropped so it looks great with jeans and it’ll be perfect for warmer weather, too, thrown over my shoulders with a sun dress or with denim shorts on cooler nights.
I got this years ago, but it’s still my favorite purse. The size is small but fits a good bit. The style is dressy with the gold chain but can be dressed down as a handbag, and the leather gets better with time. It’s pricey but nowhere near the price of a designer bag. A very happy medium! Black is currently sold out, but see the other J.Lowery bucketbag colorways linked here.
Another gifted product I fell in love with this year. These are my new favorite wireless bras for busty ladies. I needed some larger bras since I’m breastfeeding (I had been wearing NEIWAI and loved them), but EBY has been much better for my larger chest. I like the Relief style best.
I hadn’t heard of Larroude until 2024, and now I can’t get enough of their shoes, especially the Blair Ballet Flats. I own them in 3 colors; they’re well-made, comfortable, and easy to style. Their boots are gorgeous and comfortable too; I own the Ricky boots in Mocca.
It’s not something I’m wearing right now, but I wore this La Blanca one-piece swimsuit all summer long. It has excellent compression and flattering stomach ruching. It also has a full-coverage bottom, which is essential to me at the local pool, but doesn’t look matronly. Plus, the square neckline is flattering and reveals just enough. I love that you can order it on Amazon.
The Tineco Floor ONE S5 is the best cleaning appliance I’ve ever purchased. It vacuums AND mops hard surfaces at the same time. I use this on my hardwood floors, and it makes them spotless. If you have kids who spill food on the floor or track in mud from the outdoors onto your hard surfaces (tile, hardwood, etc), this is essential. Our model is the Tineco Floor ONE S5.
I finally retired our Shark cordless vacuum this year and was READY to say goodbye. I got the V12 Dyson instead, and WOW, I can’t believe how much better it is. It’s pricey, but the amount of gunk it picks up daily (and I’m a clean person!) is just absurd. I use this on carpets, rugs and our kitchen floor. Our rugs are vintage that we’ve had for over seven years, and I swear it’s getting dirt out that’s been collecting for years; they keep getting softer every time I vacuum! I use the Tineco for mopping and this for dry vacuuming.
This Lodge candle was gifted to me in the fall, and I’m SO sad that the scent is being retired. It’s on sale right now, and I’m ordering a few since I’ve never loved a candle so much!
This Westwood quilt is what we have on our bed, our guest bed, and both beds in Boone. It’s from Serena and Lily, and I can’t say enough great things about it! It’s a perfect weight — never too hot or cold, but not too lightweight. And the texture is beautifully soft.
I’m a very picky sleeper, and it took me years to find a pillow that I actually loved. Meet the Lagoon pillow. I have the Fox, but Chinchilla is good if you like a softer option (that’s Tommy’s pick).
I finally broke down and bought planters for our front porch, and they totally transformed the space. I went with these Grecian Urn planters and faux boxwoods. See the transformation video here.
I have every one of my favorite beauty products for each category linked in my Best of Beauty Awards blog post, but these are my desert island picks. BTW – if you are like me and have a TON of makeup, here are a few tips to help you organize it.
I’ve always loved blush, and the Jones Road Miracle Balm in Flushed is my #1 favorite. Flushed is very natural looking, and the balm wears very easily and hydrates my skin. I use a large fluffy brush to diffuse the color on my cheeks and forehead. If you have oily skin, skip this product since it’s SUPER hydrating.
World’s best. This lip balm is super hydrating (like you’d hope), but it also makes my lips look full––almost like I’ve had lip filler (and I haven’t). I’ve also noticed that the redness around the outside of my lips lessens when I apply this.
This was gifted to me, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s the best body lotion I’ve ever tried, and it’s made with clean ingredients. I didn’t think there was a huge difference in body lotions until I used this. My skin feels TOTALLY different after I apply it. I wish it didn’t cost so much though!!
I got this Splash Salve only a few weeks ago, but I’ve been blown away by it! It’s a hydrating balm you apply in the shower – allow the water to rinse over everything, then pat your skin dry. I don’t even need a moisturizer after I use this.
This Airebrush makes at-home blowouts a breeze. Even if you struggle to do your own hair, you will be able to use this, I promise! See it in action here.
I tried a ton of styles before finding these Durand frames. They’re cute and go with everything! See them on me here.
This brand was new to me this year, and I’ve worn the Mavis Hoop Earrings non-stop since getting them. They’re affordable, but you can’t tell by looking at them. The code TERILYN25 will save you 25% on your order.
I used to think I’d never like a Kindle (I’ve always loved real books), but boy, I was wrong. I keep this in my purse to read while I wait at appointments, and I love how easy it is to hold while I read in bed at night. When I was breastfeeding all the time in the newborn days, I could read while I breastfed and pumped.
I never thought I’d like a fabric spray since I’m so sensitive to scents, but I use this almost daily to release wrinkles in tops and dresses. I love the smell, and I can’t believe how well it works.
These are my favorite pens ever! If you’re a pen snob, you’ll love these.
I was introduced to Oso & Me in the spring and have been so happy to have a go-to kids’ brand when shopping for the boys. I don’t love the typical Southern boy’s styles (Peter Pan collars and smocking), and this feels like the best blend of play clothes and clothes they can wear to church.
Joy Street is the softest, cutest kids pajama brand I’ve found.
We LOVE these Bamboo Sleep Sacks for Charles. Softer and more affordable than Kyte.
I have these art frames in the boys’ bathroom, and I swap out the art anytime Thomas brings home something new. I love that I can display his artwork without it plastered all over the fridge. See how it works in this video.
I wrote a lot of “how to” posts this year for styling, and they happened to be my favorite topics!
