If you’ve ever gone down the rabbit hole trying to find the perfect pillow, I get it. I’ve tried them all—fancy memory foam, organic cotton, adjustable fill, contour pillows—you name it and I’ve tried it. But none of them came close to Lagoon pillows.

Since discovering Lagoon, I’ve bought six, and the brand gifted me four after I reached out to ask if they’d want to partner on Instagram content! So, we now have ten (yes, ten) Lagoon Pillows. I’m sharing all the details below, but the short story is they are amazing. Buy them now. My top pick is the Fox, and more details are below.

Let’s break down what makes Lagoon pillows so different (and better).

Lagoon Pillow Review: The BEST Pillows I’ve Ever Had

Taking the Perfect Pillow Quiz

Before you ever try Lagoon pillows, you’ll take their Pillow Quiz. This quiz walks you through your sleep style, firmness preferences, and other factors like temperature and head size (seriously), and recommends the right pillow for you. It nailed it for me and my husband—we each ended up with a different favorite, and both of us love ours.

The Lagoon Pillows Lineup

Lagoon has a full lineup of pillows named after animals—each one with slightly different loft, firmness, and features. Some are better for back sleepers, others for side sleepers, or stomach sleepers. They’re all made with adjustable shredded memory foam so that you can fine-tune the feel to your liking.

  • The Chinchilla – Softest option, great for stomach sleepers
  • The Puffin – Medium softness, great for stomach sleepers with stockier builds
  • The Fox – Most support, higher loft, and great for all sleeping positions (this is my pick!)
  • The Otter – A cooling pillow with solid support
  • Travel Pillow – Kid-Friendly Sized Pillow

Lagoon Pillows Firmness

Each Lagoon pillow ranges from soft to firm, and thanks to the zipper design, you can remove or add fill to get the feel just right. I’ve tried adjustable pillows from other brands like Naturepedic and Marlow, but they either made a huge mess or didn’t feel comfortable even after adjustments. Lagoon wins here, hands down.

The Chinchilla – softest option

The Chinchilla is the softest, lightest, and most cloud-like pillow Lagoon makes. It’s especially ideal for stomach sleepers (Tommy!) and since it’s fully adjustable, you can remove some fill to get just the right height for your personal comfort and alignment.

The Puffin – slightly more supportive

Next is the Puffin. This pillow is also soft and light, but it offers a little more support than a typical down alternative pillow. Like all Lagoon pillows, it’s fully adjustable, so you can take out some of the fill to get the height just right for your neck and back. It’s an excellent pick for stomach sleepers with medium or stockier builds, or for anyone who wants a softer feel while sleeping on their back.

The Fox – regular support

The Fox is my personal favorite and the most popular Lagoon pillow. It’s ideal for all body types and sleep positions—side, back, or stomach. Of course, you can adjust the fill as needed, but I find it feels perfect right out of the package. It’s made with CertiPUR-US certified shredded memory foam, which is both super soft and supportive.

The Otter – cooling pillow

The Otter is designed for anyone who runs hot at night. It’s made with gel-infused memory foam that keeps things cool all night long while still giving you solid support. And of course, it’s also adjustable.

Travel Pillow

The Travel pillow is a kid-friendly sized Otter pillow. It has the same gel-infused shredded memory foam and keeps things cool all night. It also comes with a cooling, breathable pillowcase. It’s not quite as large as a queen-size pillow, which is why they say it’s a great kid-friendly option.

Lagoon Pillows Loft

Loft refers to the height of your pillow, and it’s another area where Lagoon excels. Whether you prefer a low loft (like the Chinchilla), medium (like the Puffin), or high loft (like the Fox), they’ve got an option. And because the fill is adjustable, you can change the loft yourself if needed.

Lagoon Pillows Materials

Each Lagoon pillow is filled with shredded memory foam for airflow and comfort, plus a blend of polyester fiber for extra fluff. The outer covers are made with ultra-soft bamboo fabric, and I love that they’re machine washable and easy to zip on and off. Honestly, they’re so soft you *could* sleep without a pillowcase—but Lagoon also makes gorgeous silk ones.

Pro-tip: throw the entire pillow into a dryer for about 20 minutes to fluff it up once you open the package!

Are the Lagoon Pillows Good for Hot Sleepers?

Yes. I run warm at night and can confirm that the gel-infused foam and breathable bamboo cover keep me cooler than other pillows I’ve tried. No waking up sweaty. If you are a particularly hot sleeper, definitely opt for the Otter.

Are Lagoon Pillows Worth It?

They’re not cheap, but if you struggle with sleep, neck pain, or just want to stop wasting money on disappointing pillows, Lagoon pillows are absolutely worth it. Plus, Lagoon offers a 100-night sleep trial and free returns, so there’s no risk.

I’ve tried a lot of adjustable pillows, and Lagoon is the only one that got it all right. The fill doesn’t clump, the cover is dreamy-soft, and the zippered design makes it easy to customize or wash. I’ve bought them for our bedroom, guest room, my son’s room, and both bedrooms in our mountain place. That’s how you know it’s real love.

If you want to try one, I’ve got a promo code—because I *had* to reach out to Lagoon after falling so hard for their pillows. Happy sleeping!
