If you peeked in my closet right now, you’d notice summer has fully taken over. Strappy sandals, a sneaker or two (or three or four), and a summer heel I can actually walk in. I tend to gravitate toward that elegant, slightly preppy aesthetic (very much Tuckernuck’s lane), so this list is my seasonal best-of Tuckernuck shoes that feel polished without being impractical for my working mom life.
At 41, I don’t fuss with uncomfortable shoes. I’m willing to invest in a good pair, but only if I know they’ll last me for years. They have to be high quality, versatile, and comfortable. If I’m going for something trendier, I keep the price lower since I know I won’t wear it forever. Tuckernuck has never led me astray with quality shoes.
Tuckernuck is my first stop anytime I want to refresh something in my closet. I have several other Tuckernuck roundups here on the blog if you want to pair a dress or top with whatever you find in this post:
Below are my picks across every summer category worth knowing: sandals, jelly sandals, flats, heels, and raffia sandals. Sizing notes by brand are in the FAQ at the bottom.

This is where Tuckernuck does some of their best work for summer. The sandal selection runs from flat strappy styles to raffia block heels, and the leather options feel substantial and well-made for the price.

Red, strappy flats, yes please. I love a pop of red, especially for summer. Have you heard of the “unexpected red theory?” It’s more of a home decor term, but I feel like it applies here! (Google it and tell me if you think it’s true!) If you love Loeffler Randall but want to explore more options, I have a roundup of the best Loeffler Randall dupes worth checking out.
You can wear shoes like this with a linen dress or wide-leg trousers and it carries the whole look.

I bought the Amazon version last year and found it super uncomfortable but I loved the style, so this year I got the real things and absolutely love these sandals. They’re comfortable but so much prettier than a flip flop. They go with everything from a printed midi to denim shorts. Fits true to size.

Raffia sandals are one of the bigger shoe trends this summer and Tuckernuck’s selection is worth a look. The Matisse Grenada is a woven block 2.5 inch heel that’s practical and classy. The natural tan tone works with white, denim, olive, blush and basically everything in your summer wardrobe, and if you want more options like this, check out my roundup of neutral sandals.
Jellies were everywhere in my childhood and they are BACK. They’re fun, they’re affordable, and they work with a summer outfit in a way that’s hard to explain until you try it. And hello inner-child when you slip on a pair of jelly shoes as an adult.

I tried the Riley Jellies last summer in navy. I found that particular color hard to style (and they ran small), so I passed them along to a friend who loves them. Now, I’m thinking of trying the gold version since they wold be a more neutral color to style. I’ve seen them on multiple influencers and love them. They’re cute with a sundress, linen shorts, or a casual midi.
I’ve tried to narrow it down to three flats styles that cover different needs: a slingback for everyday versatility, a strappy sandal for warmer days, and a woven flat that works as well at brunch as it does in a meeting.
I absolutely love slingback shoes, both in terms of style and practicality. I’m often between sizes, and slingbacks are much more forgiving than closed-back shoes. Plus, they look elevated but laid back, which is almost always my style goal. The Tortoise Liv Slingback Flats check every box. Wear them with an LBD for dinner or with trousers and a button down for a meeting.

I own these in a lighter color and they’re a little snug in the toebox, so size up if you’re on the fence. (I ended up exchanging mine for a larger size.)
The strappy upper and back slingback strap give these a secure, put-together feel. If you’re looking for a shoe that works at the office and on the weekend, this one fits the bill. I have a full roundup of comfortable work shoes for women that are actually cute if you need more ideas. This strappy suede works with a white dress as easily as it does with linen trousers.

Have you ever seen a prettier braided leather in this shade of butter in a shoe before? I have not. The woven leather upper adds texture and makes even a basic outfit look more put-together. If you want a neutral that matches everything but is more interesting than your standard brown or tan, this is a fun choice.

If you’re looking for a heel that doesn’t require a recovery day, these three options are worth your time. A classic mid-height, kitten heel, and a slim slingback. Different occasions, same easy elegance.

If I needed one pair of heels to carry me through every summer event on the calendar, this would be a strong candidate. Soft suede, minimalist straps, slim slingback heel is my dream combo, and the nude tone makes legs look miles long. I wore these for a two-hour photoshoot and wasn’t suffering. They are truly gorgeous and the pitch of the heel is much more comfortable than you’d expect.

There’s something timeless about a grosgrain heel. The Margot has that slightly vintage, old-money feel: feminine but not fussy, and grosgrain doesn’t scuff the way satin does, which is a win. Throw them on with a simple black dress or a printed midi and they carry the whole look. I wore them all winter long with jeans and cocktail dresses alike — and they’re perfect for summer too.

I think everyone needs a pair of classic kitten heels. These are the shoes you wear when you want to look like you made an effort, but you’re not compromising comfort (tell me you’re over 40 without telling me.) They’re a perfect day-to-night work shoe.

Espadrilles are not my personal favorite since they cut my legs off in a way that’s just not flattering on my 5’1″ frame. That said, I know they have a serious following every summer and plenty of people love them, so they’re worth including here. Tuckernuck’s in-house espadrilles tend to run slightly narrow, so size up if you’re in between.
Tuckernuck’s sneaker collection is always a problem because I want to buy all the sneakers. And well, I’ve come close. I’ve always loved white sneakers, but this year, I’m loving the fun sneaker colorways and plan to add a metallic pair and perhaps a blue or green option as well.

Vejas are my most worn sneakers, hands down. I’ve owned multiple pairs across multiple styles and genuinely love them. They’re comfortable, they last, and they look good with almost everything. The Recife is a similar look, only with velcro straps instead of laces is you prefer that look. Both options come in several different color combos.

The V-90 in camel and natural has been all over this season. If you haven’t tried wearing sneakers with dresses yet, this is a great one to start with. Check out my sneakers with dresses post for outfit ideas. The warm neutral doesn’t show wear the way a bright white sneaker does either, which is a practical bonus.

I own these in tan and the slim fit is flattering but still comfortable. But the red is just so fun. I love the retro styling, and I’m seeing red styled everywhere this year, and it seems surprisingly versatile.

Yes. Jack Rogers sandals are back and apparently we’re doing this again. I am not. If you grew up with them and love them, Tuckernuck is a convenient place to shop them. If you’re looking for a strappy flat sandal and don’t have a Jack Rogers loyalty card already, I’d point you toward the Loeffler Randall options in this post first.
It depends on the brand. Tuckernuck carries their own in-house line plus third-party brands like Loeffler Randall, Veja, Matisse, Emilia Wickstead, and Back 70, and each one fits differently. Tuckernuck’s house brand generally runs true to size, with espadrilles running slightly narrow. Veja runs small, so size up half a size if you’re in between. Loeffler Randall mostly fits true to size, but size up if you’re on the fence. I always check the brand on the product page before ordering.
For the price point, yes. And again, it depends on the brand. But in general, the leather sandals and heels have lasted me multiple years and counting. The jellies are exactly what you’d expect: fun, seasonal, not meant to be heirlooms. The espadrilles will likely last a few seasons of regular wear, which is fair for the category.
It varies by style and brand. Tuckernuck’s house brand sources from Italy, Spain, Brazil, and China. The country of origin is listed on each product page. The Italian-made heels and Spanish espadrilles are the ones I’d prioritize for quality.
Overall, yes, and I’m picky about comfort. The heels, in particular, have surprised me with their comfort. It depends on the specific style, of course, but I haven’t been burned by Tuckernuck in this department.
Free returns within 30 days as long as the shoes are unworn and in original packaging. Since shoes require an actual try-on to know if they’ll work, I appreciate this window. Sale items are usually final sale, so be more careful with those. (If you want the most flexible return policy, Nordstrom is hard to beat. You can return shoes even after wearing them, within reason.)
I hope you find something in here that earns a spot in your summer rotation. If you love Tuckernuck but find it a little pricey, check out my Tuckernuck Style on a Budget post. For more outfit inspiration, follow me on ShopMy or LTK where I share daily outfits and finds.
