While I’ve ordered from Revolve in the past, I’ve started browsing the site more often given their large selection! But, I wanted to give you an honest review of the brand, experience, and their products, so a while ago, I placed a large order. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by Revolve, and I hope this post helps you shop more easily!

In this post, I’m sharing all the details about Revolve Clothing – everything from my personal experience ordering from there, the quality of their clothes and accessories, the customer service experience, and a few of my favorite picks. I update this post every few months so you’ll see a mix of spring and summer items, as well as fall and winter items I found last year.

Let’s jump into this review, shall we?

Revolve Clothing Review

TeriLyn Adams sharing her Revolve Clothing Review

What is Revolve Clothing?

Revolve is an online retailer that carries hundreds of designer fashion brands (500+!) and everything from clothes, shoes, and accessories. It’s similar to Nordstrom or Bloomingdales, but marketed to a younger audience (although they have great options for someone like me in their late 30’s!). And while they have a bunch of well-known designer brands, they also carry lesser-known and smaller brands, and I’ve found some new-to-me favorites through them. Revolve has a wide range of price points, but in general, they are on the more-expensive side.

Who owns Revolve Clothing?

The company is no longer private as co-founders Mente and Karanikolas took the company public in 2019. When they went public in June 2019, they raised $212 million in an IPO that valued the company at over 1.23 billion dollars! CRAZY success for those guys. The company is now under MMMK Development, Inc.

Revolve was started in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas. They began the company from a small home in Buena Park, CA, with a combined $50,000 they had saved from their jobs prior (they were both worked at software companies). From day one, they offered free shipping and free returns (which was pretty unusual at the time – more on this below!), and they also began using influencers, noticing they were a massive part of successful marketing, all the way back in 2009. They first worked with Rumi Neely, the blogger behind Fashion Toast, which kickstarted their first influencer campaign. Over the years, they’ve generated around $500 million in sales (and those are numbers from 2018, so imagine how much its grown since) with influencer marketing.

Where is Revolve Clothing based?

Revolve’s headquarters is now in Cerritos, California. Revolve operates in both the US and UK.

Revolve Clothing Customer Service

I have been very pleased with Revolve’s customer service so far. You can use this page on their website to chat with their live support, find their phone number, and also locate their email. One of the best things about Revolve is that every order gets FREE two-day shipping. Once you start ordering from Revolve, you become a little spoiled by their shipping speed. Their returns are free too, which makes placing an order through Revolve much less intimidating.

When I’ve emailed and chatted with them about a return (I tested both options to compare!), they were friendly and helpful! No complaints.

Best Revolve Clothing Items

Now that we’ve talked about the admin side of Revolve, let’s get into the good stuff — their products! I’ve placed a few orders over the last year, so I’ll share what I got, along with what I’m currently eyeing.

Revolve Clothing Dresses
Cleobella Elly Mini Dress

This Elly Mini Dress caught my eye this spring as I was scrolling through Revolve’s new arrivals. I love that it’s not full-on summer in terms of color, but it would be easy to wear throughout the spring. The darker shade of the dress is perfect for these chilly spring days. I love a belted waist that gives the dress it’s shape, and the button neck. It’s boho but not oversized (great combo). I also love this very similar style by Cleobella.

Seaview Dress by L*Space

I love a casual dress, and this mini by L*Space is just my style. The tank style shirt style with the knot detail is a relaxed but feminine option that I’d pair with sneakers. SO easy, and it comes in a few colors!

Lovers and Friends Makena Midi Dress

I added this Lovers and Friends dress to my favorites in my Revolve account as soon as I saw it. It would be SO cute for a beach vacation this summer. I love the smocked bodice which tends to be very flattering, the cut-outs (I’ve been super into tasteful cut outs recently), and the midi length.

Eleanora Embroidered Dress

I really need an excuse to order this since it’s so beautiful. The soft yellow and the embroidery are beautiful and classic, and I bet this would be a dress I’d wear for years without it going out of style. I also love the open back detailing; it’s a little unexpected given the demure front and makes it more interesting and youthful without being too revealing.

Focus Pleat Smock Mini Dress

I love an easy throw-on-and-go dress like this, and the pleated, puff sleeves make it more unique than most t-shirt style dresses. This mini dress would look darling with flat sandals or even white sneakers. I have this in my cart!

Steve Madden Lorelei Dress

This is the perfect spring and summer dress!  I love literally everything about it: the color, the shape, the length, and the polished collar. SO GOOD! Oh, and the price too! It’d look cute with white sneakers, clear heels or flat sandals.

The Mini Shirt Dress

Gosh, these shirt dresses are so good. I wish I had a reason to buy them all! If you’re a bride, this mini shirtdress would be perfect for a bridal shower of some kind. It’s polished with a collar and belt, but the skirt is super fun and feminine.

L’Academie Sable Sweater Dress

This turtleneck sweater dress was one of the best purchases I made this fall. The dress is the perfect weight for a chilly fall day, but not overly warm. I’m wearing an XS length is perfect on me (I’m 5’1″). I especially love that it can be worn with heeled booties, tall boots, heels, or sneakers. It can easily be dressed up or down with shoes and accessories, so you’ll get lots of use out of it. At $168, it’s not a cheap purchase, for a classic, high quality dress, I feel like the price is fair. Since this is something I’ll wear a hundred times this season, I prefer having a high quality piece, versus a sweater dress that’ll fall apart after a few wears.

Revolve Swimwear
Tularosa Dreamer Top and Bottoms

This floral bikini set was a fun splurge for our recent trip to Dominica. I LOVE the color and pattern, and the cut is super feminine. The bottom is a little cheekier than I would wear to our neighborhood pool but if you need a pretty suit for a beach trip with girlfriends or a resort vacation, it’s a beautiful option. Shop the top here and the bottoms here.

Lovers and Friends West Coast Top and Bottom

I just ordered a bunch of bikinis and found a few winners, but now I also want to order this. High-waisted swimsuits are so flattering and also feel age-appropriate (especially with a toddler running around) but I love the little peek-a-boo cutout that makes it just a little sexy. I also love the muted colors. Shop the top here and the bottoms here.

L*Space Lala Bikini Top

This black and white bikini is gorgeous if you want a swimsuit with a little less coverage. I love the colorblocking and the v-neck style, but the bottoms are probably a little too small for swim lessons and our neighborhood pool!! Shop the top here and the bottoms here.

Queensland 2 Bikini

I wish I had another trip with Tommy planned for the summer because I would absolutely buy this bikini! I love the sexy style that isn’t too overboard. The matching bottoms are linked here, but I think you could easily wear a simple black bikini bottom that you already have (and then you can choose the kind of coverage you want!).

Balboa One Piece

This is such a tasteful and feminine one piece. I LOVE the square neck and the tie at the waist, which would be so flattering.

Revolve Clothing Jeans

Revolve carries my favorite denim brands, like MOTHER, Frame, and 7 for All Mankind.

MOTHER Insider Crop Step Fray

I have this pair of jeans in a wash from a few years ago. They’re stretchy and comfortable, and I get compliments every time I wear them. If you love the look of jeans but would rather wear leggings for comfort, this is the perfect pair of jeans for you. They look great with heels, sneakers and sandals so they’re very versatile and my most-worn jeans. (You can see the other jeans that I love here.)

AGOLDE Parker Long Shorts

I’m a huge fan of AGOLDE jean shorts because they’re real denim that loosens and softens over time. I’ve tried SO many pairs of jean shorts, and these are my long standing favorites. The longer length is perfect for moms, and the wash isn’t too distressed or acid wash – just a great worn-in look. They’re on sale right now too, so you don’t have to pay full price! Trust me and order these before the summer.

Revolve Clothing Shoes
Sam Edelman Kia Sandal

I have and LOVE these winter sandals. They’re the perfect winter heel for almost all occasions. I always find Sam Edelman shoes comfortable and these heels are no exception. The double strap over the toe and ankle strap are both super flattering, and make these heels easy to wear all night and the block heel makes them easy to walk in.

Veja Campo Sneakers

I’m a long-time fan of Veja, and whenever I can find a large selection of them at one retailer, I get excited. They sell out SUPER quickly, but Revolve carries a ton of colors and styles, so you’re likely to find a pair that works for you. My pick is the Veja Esplar sneaker. I have it in the matcha green option and wear them ALL THE TIME (with leggings, jeans and dresses!). They’re great for moms who are chasing kids but want to feel put together.

Loeffler Randall Natalia Pleated Knot Platform

I purchased this pair of platform heels for the LTK Conference this fall, and they are one of my favorite splurge purchases ever. They are so incredibly comfortable, which I found shocking. I’ve been on my feet for hours in them without issues and they are easy to walk in. And, of course, they’re beautiful and flattering.

On Cloud 5 Terry Sneaker

On is another brand of sneakers that I find sells out quickly. Revolve carries a bunch of styles in this brand as well, so I’m always looking there when searching for a new pair. My favorite pair is no longer available, but I have and LOVE this slip on pair. This Cloudnova pair is on my wishlist. I don’t love Ons for running, but I love them for walking and athleisure.

Ugg Scuffette II Shearling Slipper

I’ve had this exact pair of Uggs for YEARS. I love the flat sole for wearing around the house.

Revolve Clothing Sweaters
Tularosa Shanae Ruffle Sweater

I saved this pink sweater to my favorites the moment I saw it. I love the light pink color and the ruffle shoulders. Since I’m 5’1″, cropped sweaters don’t overwhelm my frame, and I’m always looking for them. This is a home run!

Lovers and Friends Daybreak Sweater

I love the color of this brown sweater. I ordered this immediately and it’s even better in person! The knit is loose, so keep that in mind if you live somewhere cold. You may want a tank for underneath!

Lovers and Friends Daybreak Sweater

Tularosa Jemma Pullover

I LOVE the knit detail on the chest of this sweater. That, and the cropped length! This is a perfect sweater for the entire season.

Lovers and Friends Caroline Cardigan

This cardigan sweater is something I’d have to see on my body before I’m sure it would work. Online, I LOVE it! But since it’s pretty low-cut, it may not work well as a top on it’s own for me. I LOVE the green color.

Is Revolve Clothing Sustainable?

Revolve has recently started a Sustainability initiative with their “Sustainability Shop” section on their website, which is super neat. Not everything on their site is included, but I love that they have this section where you can browse only sustainably sourced clothing options. The Revolve group is working hard assess their carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions in order to inform their sustainability strategy for the future, as they’ve gotten some backlash in the past for being “fast fashion”.

Their criteria for an item to be considered sustainable, and to be included in the Sustainability Shop section, is extensive.

Here are some of the criteria:

  • Purposefully Made – This means that the brand is working to find more environmentally friendly ways to produce their products. Many of the materials or products actually have certifications such as organic cotton certified under the Global Organic Textile Standard, or wool certified to meet the Responsible Wool Standard.
  • Recycled – This means the products are produced in a way that takes someone’s consumer waste (plastic bottles, for example), and turns them into new products.
  • Plant-Based – This means products that are not using materials from animals.
  • Low Impact – Manufactures that use processes to make clothes that have a low impact on the environment (taking into account things like energy use, waste reduction, water use, etc.). This reduces its carbon footprint substantially!
  • Upcycled – Manufacturers that use old/vintage material to make new products.
  • Responsible Manufacturing – Making sure that workers in its supply chain are being paid a living wage and working in safe environments.

You can shop sustainable brands from the Sustainability Section here.

Bottom line: Is Revolve Clothing worth it?

Absolutely. Honestly, the FREE 2-day shipping and easy returns is enough of a reason for me to order from them when I’m deciding between Revolve and another retailer that carry the same item. Revolve is on the more expensive side of shopping, however, so I definitely don’t stop there exclusively. I prefer to find a few great pieces at a time, and update my closet that way. (And I balance out my wardrobe with some Walmart and Amazon pieces!) It helps to know I won’t have to replace my Revolve items frequently since the quality is superb. I should also mention again that they have free returns! Knowing I can send something back makes me much more likely to order it to try.

I also love that I’ve discovered new-to-me brands while shopping through Revolve. Finding a brand that fits well and matches my style always feels like a huge win, and it makes shopping for events easier in the future since I’ll know to look at that brand! I haven’t tried ordering their beauty products, but next time I place a Revolve order, I’m going to add a few beauty picks. I prefer to place one larger order at one retailer than multiple orders from multiple retailers (and hello, free shipping).

They carry some of my favorite beauty brands like Augustinus Bader, Charlotte Tilbury, and Jouer Cosmetics.

While I’m shopping online at Revolve, I always check their sale section to see if I can find my favorite brands included. Their sale section is huge! I do that no matter where I’m shopping, whether it be ShopBop, Nordstrom, Tuckernuck, you name it!

I hope these thoughts give you a good overview of Revolve as a brand, and an idea of some of the items they carry, so that you can place your order with confidence!

Happy shopping!
