As someone who doesn’t go to a lot of weddings these days, I always find it so fun (and flattering!) that people ask me to help them find wedding guest dresses for their upcoming events. I have the best time looking for fun formal dresses and imagining the events I’d wear them to. (I do, however, have two weddings to attend this fall, so I actually did shop for myself when working on this post).

Today’s roundup is focused on womens wedding guest dresses, specifically from Nordstrom because the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is in full-swing! (I still need to add a Nordstrom Rack section too since they have great stuff). Every year, there’s at least one perfect wedding guest dress included in the Anniversary sale. Last year it was a gorgeous Steve Madden Floral Chiffon Dress, and this year, it’s this Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress.

I’m a long-time Nordstrom fan because of their amazing customer service, free shipping and returns, and because they carry many of my all-time favorite brands. I also have another blog post with more wedding guest dress ideas that aren’t only from Nordstrom.

With all of that said, let’s jump into this Nordstrom Wedding Guest Dress roundup! I hope you find something you love.

My Favorite Nordstrom Wedding Guest Dresses

Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress

Like I mentioned in the intro, this Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress is my very favorite wedding guest dress from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. It’s perfect in every way: the right length and fabric for any formality (cocktail, formal, and even black tie), and it’s flattering and feminine. The colors can be worn in the summer and even into fall, and the fit is flawless (I have a small).

To wear this dress to a formal or black tie wedding, pair with closed toe pumps. For something more on the cocktail attire side, strappy heeled sandals are perfect. I styled it a few different ways in this reel.

One thing to note: if you have muscular glutes, you’ll want to size up. I’m usually an XS or small and I took a small in this dress.

Hutch Strapless Tiered Tulle Gown

The colors are what drew me to this Hutch Strapless Tiered Tulle Gown. I love anything green, and the hues of this dress felt like the perfect shade for both summer and fall. The asymmetrical layers add a ton of interest, while the strapless bodice gives it the simple elegance needed to balance out the “fun”. This strikes me as more formal or black tie than cocktail, and since it’s floor length, nude sandals work well (versus pumps for the midi dress above).

Bardot Remy Long Sleeve Lace Minidress

Next up is this stunning blue Remy Long Sleeve Lace Minidress by Bardot. There is so much to love about this dress, but the sleeves are my favorite part. When looking for a wedding guest dress to wear for weddings in the early fall, it can be hard to find something that’s not a summery dress but also not a true fall option. This is the ideal transitional dress. It’s short and the fabric is lightweight (a cotton blend), but the lacy overlay, sleeves and collar make it feel appropriate for early fall.

This dress would be perfect for a wedding that calls for cocktail attire. I’d style it with a pair of strappy tan sandals and a clutch, and I’d likely wear my hair up so that the color and sleeves didn’t compete. And since this dress isn’t too dressy, you could easily wear it for more events throughout the fall.

Dress the Population Kirsi Metallic Floral Long Sleeve Minidress

Gosh, another gorgeous cocktail option. I ordered this last year in a different color-way, but I really appreciate the darker pink option this year for fall! The sleeves make it such a great fall option, and the muted tones mixed with a bit of shimmer make this the ideal fall cocktail dress. The fit is true to size!

Here’s a photo of the color-way I tried on last year. I also love this even darker option for a later fall wedding.

Mac Duggal Bow Shoulder V-Neck Gown

Hello gorgeous! I wish I had a black tie even to wear this Mac Duggal Bow Shoulder dress too! The pink is fun and playful (although this dress comes in other colors too), but the shape is elegant and timeless. I love the bow shoulder detail and the plunging neckline (and back). This is great dress to wear into later fall and even winter (maybe a darker color for the winter).

Metallic Sleeveless Rib Sweater Dress

This Moon River Metallic Sleeveless Rib Sweater Dress couldn’t be any better for a fall wedding. The color, cut, and material are all perfect. It’s simple and basic when you first see it, but then your eyes are drawn down to the metallic detail in the skirt. It’s so fun! The neckline is high and sophisticated, and the top has a sort of sweater-dress feel that ends in a fun pleated skirt. I’d pair this dress with nude pumps, a gold clutch, gold earrings and bracelets.

Moon River is known for having great prices too.

Petal and Pup Lauren Lace Overlay Dress

I’ve seen variations of this dress for a few years now, but there’s something so stunning and tastefully sexy about it. I’m also a huge Petal and Pup fan – best prices ever! This Lauren Lace Overlay Dress would be a great option for a fall cocktail attire wedding. Style with closed toe pumps and a great clutch. I’d stick to navy rather than black!

If you love this vibe but want something that leans a little more conservative, you might love this Eliza J dress.

Mac Duggal Open Back Ruffle Cap Sleeve Gown

If you have a black tie wedding this fall somewhere really fun (I’m thinking a Palm Beach, California, etc), don’t miss this Open Back Ruffle Cap Sleeve Gown in such a fun kelly green. The color is fun and playful (and so are the flutter shoulders), but the rest of the dress is simple and sophisticated. It’s the idea option for a wedding where you know people will be in lots of color. I probably wouldn’t wear this past mid-October because of the color (unless the wedding is in the tropics, then definitely wear it!).

I’d style this with a strappy sandal and a sleek updo.

Sandra Plunge Crepe Trumpet Gown

I own this trumpet gown and LOVED wearing it to a formal event a couple of years ago. There’s nothing like feeling amazing in a slim fitting gown with a plunge neckline? The fit is true to size and it comes in a handful of colors. I styled it with strappy heeled sandals and minimal jewelry. Fun earrings would really take this up a notch through! This dress comes in plus sized options as well!

Mac Duggan Cutout One-Shoulder Chiffon Gown

Another Mac Duggan dress that blew me away. This brand is gorgeous! This Cutout One-Shoulder Chiffon Gown is such a gorgeous formal or black tie option for the fall. The navy floral is definitely the right color-way for fall, but the sleeveless cutout makes it appropriate for later September too.

I’m going to continue to add to this post as I find more great wedding guest dresses from Nordstrom! If you happen to order any of these, I would LOVE to see it on you! Please tag me on Instagram so I can see!
