The vineyard is located just outside Sparta in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s beautiful out there. The owner was raised in Oregon and used to work for very large vineyards. And he wanted to open a small vineyard, work with local growers and practice sustainability.

I can’t wait to go back and spend some time on this cozy back porch.

The front porch overlooking the vineyard was equally as nice.

What a view!

Maizey loved it too.

Their tasting room was intimate and welcoming, and the super-friendly employees really knew their stuff.

I really liked their white wines. The cider was fun to taste but not my favorite cider ever…the employee pouring our tasting said each batch varies so I’d definitely try it again. The apples were local so that was cool.(Everything they use at the vineyard comes from within a 30 mile radius.)

There is really just a great vibe at McRitchnie Winery & Ciderworks – definitely check it out in you’re in the area! Plus, it’s a pretty drive to get there and there is a cute pumpkin patch nearby to add to your itinerary if you visit in the fall!

    1. My dream side job would be to work at a furniture store or a hip knitting store.

    2. Super cute shirt! Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of having my own bakery…maybe someday!

    3. I love your outfit! You look so cute. Sounds like a really fun visit. I think my dream “on-the-side” job would be an event planner; I’m sure it could be stressful, but I love organizing and planning things!

    4. Thanks! I’ve always thought an event planner would be fun too! Think of all the fun to-do lists!!

    5. I scrolled down to ask about your chambray shirt but I see others beat me to it! I tried one on at J.Crew (not factory) and didn’t love it. I will check out the factory store soon!
While I’d love to open a bakery, I don’t know if I could be baking cupcakes everyday at 4 am…
