As many of you know, we bought a new house in December 2021 and then spent nearly all of 2022 renovating. One of the places I found myself going back to over and over again for house purchases was Serena and Lily. Their brand is relaxed while still feeling refined, with a breezy, airy style. While I wouldn’t describe our home style quite that same way, I’ve found many items from there that have blended beautifully with our more modern and traditional feel. Our design style can feel intense — we love bold wallpapers, rich colors and antiques — but mixing in some lighter pieces really creates a nice balance. I’ve been surprised by how well their pieces integrate with the rest of our house.
Everything on their website is beautiful, calming, and coordinated, which makes it a fun place to browse. And since we’ve started collecting quite a few things from there, I thought it was time for a blog post roundup. I’ll try to keep this post updated with anything else we order from S&L, since there’s bound to be a few more things.
It’s worth noting that while the prices are on the more expensive end for home decor, the quality is top-notch, and I recommend their selection with full confidence. They frequently have sales, which also helps with large purchases, and that’s how I’ve acquired many of our pieces.
If you’re also hunting for a few new home items, I hope this post will help you find something you love! This post is not sponsored – I wish!
Okay, let’s start with something you shouldn’t buy since I think a lot of people buy towels more readily than other home purchases. I put off ordering new bath towels for a few months when we moved into our new house because linens felt like the last thing I wanted to spend money on. But after reading a lot of Serena and Lily towels reviews, I finally decided to purchase the Sonoma Bath Towels. Our guests all commented on how amazing the towels feel and I loved them too. But they got dingy pretty quickly, and they didn’t stay soft for long. I found myself replacing them every 12 months or so, which felt like a lot given the price.
I recently switched our towels to Weezie’s Signature Bundle and I like them much better. They’re more plush than Serena and Lily and haven’t gotten dingy at all after 8 months.
Serena & Lily bedding is absolutely unreal. I bought our sheets, quilt and duvet cover from from Serena & Lily, and our bed feels so luxurious. Here’s what we have on our bed, the guest bed and our bed in Boone.
Westwood quilt (and matching Westwood quilted shams) — this quilt is the best quilt ever. If you’re on the hunt for a quilt for your bed, the hunt is now over. It’s a perfect weight — never too hot or cold, but not too lightweight either. And the texture is beautifully soft.
Duvet insert — The duvet insert is the fluffiest ever and hasn’t lost its fluff or all migrated to the bottom, like other inserts we’ve had.
Beach Club Percale Bedding Set uvet cover from Serena And the quilt and quilted shams are my favorite part of the bedding set!
We have their Soho Sateen Sheets and and the Percale sheets. I probably prefer the percale ones since they’re a tiny bit “stiffer” which I really like. It’s kind of like having starched sheets in a fancy hotel.
In the photo below, we were having our duvet dry-cleaned since it was so wrinkly after the first wash, so it’s missing! I’ll add a pic ASAP!
One of my VERY favorite purchases from Serena & Lily are our counter stools. These are the Portside Counter Stool, and they couldn’t be more perfect for our space. I was looking for something that had a natural fiber feel with a lower back after trying these stools and these, both of which felt too heavy and traditional for the space.
Our kitchen has a handful of modern touches, and I wanted to make sure the stools felt like a layer in the space, and didn’t weigh the room down. Plus, I definitely didn’t want our stools to compete with the fun island color.
I’m not joking when I say that we looked at 100+ counter stools before finding these. I never thought to look at S&L for since so much of their furniture looks beachy but these are perfect in the kitchen The Portside Stool is a beautiful color: a rich earth-toned stained wood that still shows the wood grain and has a little bit of variation. I also love the tapered legs because they help bring in some of the more modern features in the kitchen.
The first thing I ever ordered from Serena and Lily was the Hattie Table Lamp for our primary bedroom in Boone. They’re still one of my favorite purchases ever, and truly make the bedroom. The size is substantial without overwhelming our nightstand. And the blue color isn’t quite a “preppy” blue (so much of Serena and Lily leans very beachy) which felt more “us”, especially in the mountains. I also love the dimming light switch to adjust the brightness of the bulb. It’s little touches like that I’ve noticed with S&L that really make the pieces feel more high-end.
Our bed is not from S&L, but we love it so much. It’s called the Mid-Century Canopy Bed which I’ve linked here. Our nightstands are from West Elm, too.
We also got S&L bedding for our guest room. We did the Soho sheets in there with the same quilt and quilted king shams with the Soho Sateen Duvet Cover and euro shams.
We bought this Braided Wool Rug for our town house in Boone, and it’s one of my favorite home purchases to date. It’s incredibly soft and thick, and the color is a perfect creamy neutral. It truly warms up our primary bedroom in Boone. Ours is the ivory color.
I’ll continue to add to this post as I purchase more items from Serena and Lily! If you have any favorites I should check out, let me know.
