When I started to pull together my favorite jeans for this post, I realized I have a LOT of jeans. The list I started with for this post was far too long, so I’ve pared it down so that it include only the jeans I wear the most and are the most versatile.

Just like the blog post I wrote with my favorite purses, I’m going to keep this one updated so that if I start to wear a new pair a lot, you’ll be able to find the link here. I also post my outfit everyday on the LTK app, where you can find links for ALL of the pieces in my outfits, save items and get notified if anything goes on sale (my favorite feature!). Follow me on LTK here.

For sizing reference, I’m 5’1″ and usually around 115-120 lbs. My typical size is a 25P in denim, but I’ve included my exact size in each pair below since there is some variation depending on brand and/or style.

My Current Favorite Denim

MOTHER The Insider Crop Step Fray

If I could have only one pair of denim in my closet, it would be the MOTHER Insider Crop Step. They’re one of the priciest pairs I own, but when I think about the cost per wear, they are are on par or even more affordable than other pairs. They’re comfortable with the perfect amount of stretch (but don’t ever start to sag in the knees, no matter how long I go without washing) and they so flattering on the bum. They can be dressed down with Vejas or dressed up with block heels. They’re cute with basic t-shirts and with dressier blouses. I love them and just bought them in another wash!

Abercrombie Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jean

These are the first Abercrombie jeans I’d purchased since middle school and it’s started an addiction. They have truly great-fitting denim. This was also the very first style of straight jeans that I ever purchased (three years ago) and I still wear them at least once a week. They’re flattering, affordable and come in a multiple washes (I have them in 4 washes!). They don’t have stretch, but I still order in my usual size (25 short). If you’re on the fence, I’d size up since they don’t have stretch and some washes seem to run small. They come in 4 lengths which is great too! I typically wear these with loafers or sneakers, but they absolutely can be dressed up with heels. Add them to your cart here.

Abercrombie Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean

When I first tried these mom jeans on, I thought they were so frumpy. Now I absolutely love them. I think they’re fun and the 90s fit is very on trend. (This post shows the different type of shoes to wear with 90s and mom jeans!) I also like that they are full length, since so many of my jeans are cropped. And on cold days, I appreciate having my ankles covered!! I also ordered these in my usual Abercrombie 25 Short.

What Shoes to Wear with Mom Jeans

Abercrombie Ultra High Rise Flare Jean

I bought these flare jeans in the light wash last fall and fell in love with them. I couldn’t believe how flattering they were and I actually wear them a lot. So I bought a second pair in a lighter wash since they’re so flattering and can easily be dressed up or down (which I didn’t expect). I love them with heels and with vejas! They’re the perfect length even with my sneakers.

Madewell Perfect Vintage Straight Jean, button front edition

I love the exposed button front on these and the slightly wider straight leg fit is flattering and comfortable. And I like these with any shirt that looks best tucked. I tend to wear these most often with a simple white tee and loafers but they do work with booties.

Madewell Kick Out Crop Jeans in Pure White

I’ve loved Madewell white jeans for years (See all the white jeans I’ve tried here!) and I ordered this year’s style to see if they are still a winner, and they ARE! In fact, they may be better than the older versions. They have the perfect amount of stretch to look flattering on the bum and the denim is thick enough so it’s never see through.

This photo is the new pair, and the photos afterward are a from the older pair. They’re similar, but I love the new ones!
