Last weekend was so much fun! It kicked off with the Garth Brooks concert on Friday night. I was really nervous because I started to get a migraine on Friday afternoon – insane headache, dizziness, sensitivity to light, the whole shebang. Luckily, a short nap, lots of ibuprofen, tons of water and some extra coffee kept it at bay. But nothing could have stopped me from seeing Garth! IMG_9488

Seeing Garth Brooks has been on my bucket list since I was a young teenager, so when he retired before I could see him I was devastated, and obviously thrilled when he announced he was touring again and coming so close to Winston-Salem. Needless to say, I was a wee bit excited for the concert. This is my super giddy face as I headed out.IMG_9479

The concert was better than I could have even imagined. He was such a great performer and sang all the old songs. And it was awesome that Trisha Yearwood performed too! I wish the concert had lasted longer than it did. I had so much fun with the group of friends I went with, and the night flew by.IMG_9505IMG_9499

Who is on your bucket list to see in concert? I’d still love to see Coldplay and Tegan & Sara

    1. I would love to see Maroon 5 in concert. I actually saw them in 2003 when they opened for Matchbox 20, and they weren’t the huge success they are now, but I think they would put on an amazing show as the headliner!

Looks like you had a great time!!

    2. Ohh I saw Maroon 5 in 2007 and they were awesome!!

Funny thing, I went to see Usher on Friday night 🙂

My bucket list concerts would be Coldplay and U2!

        • Go figure right? I had to wikipedia him to see if he was promoting an album. Truth be told, I won two tickets with SiriusXM and wouldn’t have gone otherwise. But in the end we had a blast, singing along to oldies and witnessing Chris Brown make an appearance!

    3. Like you, Garth has been on my bucket list since I was a teen, & I still have yet to get to one of his concerts. Tried getting tix when he was in Vegas, but he was on a break while we were there. 🙁 If he comes anywhere near me, I won’t hesitate to go! I would have freaked when those migraine symptoms started! Glad you got to go.

    4. Tegan and Sara are hilarious live. It is basically a comedy show with a really great soundtrack 🙂 Definitely catch them if they are coming near you…or just Youtube their stage banter!

    5. Terry- have been reading your blog for a while now. Found it on a random google search. I am from Winston and was also at the concert!!! It was amazing. I have been waiting for 16 years for Garth to tour again. It was awesome. I am pretty sure that I can see myself (one of the only people wearing a cowboy hat) and my husband in one of your picture. Very cool!!

      • Hey Emily! That is AWESOME you can see yourself and your husband in the picture! And seriously, the concer twas amazing! I get giddy just thinking about that night!!! I love hearing from fellow Garth fans and if you’ve been waiting 16 years to see him, we are definitely on the same page of our love for Garth! 😉
