The Weekender: Favorite Links & Current Sales

post featured image

Helllooooo! I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Mine has been so so nice. Yesterday, I was beyond lazy. I stayed on the couch for 3 hours and watched TV, which I never, ever do. It was a doozy of a week for many reasons, so I was just burned out and drained by the weekend and needed a day to veg. I started Parenthood after my friend told me that it’s the same producers and Friday Night Lights (which I binged on last summer). I’m already obsessed, and it’s also good for eliciting a good cry, which is really necessary sometimes. 😉

I got a facial in the afternoon as a total last minute thing, and it so relaxing. If you’re local, I HIGHLY recommend Whitney at The Tiny Spa. It was seriously one of the best — if not THE best — facials I’ve ever had.

Sunday has been much more productive than my Saturday. I ran at Salem Lake with Kate — our last run before she moves to Florida tomorrow! 🙁 I will really miss our runs; she always has good advice and has been a really good friend.

After the run, I came home and did some meal prep (chopped veggies, washed kale, baked muffins), made lunch and then did a Facebook live video showing how I apply cream blush. (I’m also offering a charcoal bar freebie so don’t miss that! Details below!) I spent the afternoon running errands and grocery shopping and now I’m enjoying the GLORIOUS weather outside working on this post. It’s in the 70s with a slight breeze and it feels absolutely perfect. Maizey and I are in heaven. Tommy is headed our way soon and we can’t wait to see him! (He played in a golf tournament all weekend.)

This podcast with Kelly Herron is amazing. She’s the runner who was attacked in a bathroom in Seattle. She is such an impressive woman. Wow. Worth a listen.

The Man at the Intersection of Art and Innovation – this is a blog post Tommy wrote for work where he interviewed Lindsay Bierman, who is the Chancellor of UNC School of Arts. Lindsay is such a nice guy and has a super interesting career (former editor in chief of Southern Living magazine, no big deal) and it’s really cool to hear his perspective on what’s happening in Winston. Oh, and he does Crossfit. 🙂

Not a link but so worthy of sharing. My friend posted this note on Instagram that her husband had left, and it completely warmed my heart. We need more people and more behavior like this.

    1. And then when you finish Parenthood, you have to watch This is Us. Some of the same producers are involved. Love all three of those shows!
