I felt really good about my workouts last week. My running mileage wasn’t too high, but I felt strong on all my runs and got in some really solid cross training. And I can tell my hamstrings and glutes are getting much stronger from the regular Pure Barre classes and the addition of Crossfit.
M – Ran 4 miles, 29 minutes, 7:13 pace
T – Ran 3.15 miles, 23 minutes, 7:18 pace + Crossfit (workout details)
W – Ran 4.29 miles, 30 minutes, 6:59 pace
Th – Pure Barre
F – Top Tier CrossFit (workout details)
S – Ran 6.16 miles, 43 min, 7:00 pace (with fartleks, altering speed and incline + 5 min cool-down jog for an extra 0.57 miles @ 8:40 pace
S – tbd, maybe an easy run or Pure Barre…but more likely a rest day!
Total Mileage: 18.17
How I’m feeling: Pretty good! My right shin has been a little feisty on runs lately; not sure if it’s the addition of CrossFit and using new muscles or what.
(Thanks to everyone that shared links with me this week! You guys are the best.)
Hokas are the complete opposite of Vibram FiveFingers. I’m not sure which is more hideous. Has anyone tried Hokas?? I’ve read glowing reviews but have never personally tried them on. (Thanks for the link Jill!)
The 3 Reasons People are Obsessed with Crossfit (Thanks for the link Tommy!).
I can’t wait to try this Asian Salmon Bowl that my friend with most excellent taste recently made and raved about. (Thanks for sharing Anna!)
I want this Blueberry Muffin Bake right. now.
This Oiselle running bra that I raved about in a previous post is on sale! And get an extra 15% off with the promo code NEWYEAR.
Daily Mile finally released an iPhone app! I track all my workouts there, but it’s especially awesome for runners.
I’m off to scrounge up some breakfast before trying to brave the cold weather to walk Maizey. Have a great Sunday!

I do have a few friends who wear hokas mainly because they are prone to fractures or foot injuries in general and it seems to give them the extra cushion they need, but yes, I’m not a huge fan of their look.
i love your crossfit shoutout. 😉 both the salmon and the blueberry bake look amazing! xoxo
Great work last week! Oh, how I miss running! I stopped running when I found out I was pregnant last Spring. I’m about 39 weeks along now, and I am looking forward to getting back into running again, hopefully this Spring!
I love Pure Barre– I wish it wasn’t so expensive!
I will have to look into those shoes! Never heard of them. I did have a pair of Vibram style shoes though. I haven’t been wearing them as often as I used to. Happy Sunday!
Congrats on getting your first pull up! Have you mastered double unders yet? I suck at them haha.
do you take any rest days?
Those Hokas look weird. Although I am short, so the extra height might be nice!
