Last Week’s Workouts

post featured image

I’m back from my solo vacation. Alas! I have one more beach post for you, but I haven’t downloaded the pictures yet so here’s a quick workout recap for you in the meantime. I didn’t link to videos for the CrossFit stuff this week since I’m trying to hit “schedule to post” and climb in bed ASAP! But please let me know if you’re interested in any of the CrossFit workouts and want more details or have questions; I’m happy to answer!

M – Ran 3.2 miles, 6:57 pace + CrossFit. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I was to see an average pace sub-7! It was a day I almost didn’t run and then decided to do a short but easy run before CrossFit. I started out super easy and then got faster and faster because I just felt great. LOVE days like that!

  • 10 Minute EMOM 3 Squat Cleans @ 75% (I did 75#)
  • Diane: 21-15-9 Deadlifts and Handstand Push-ups. RX for deadlifts is 155#, but I did 135#, and I did kipping HSPU with one ab mat. I think I’d go for 155# next time…it’d just take a while! It took me 10 minutes, 47 seconds this time.

T – Top Tier CrossFit.

  • 40 Wall Balls (20/14#)
  • 30 Hang Cleans (95/65, I did 55#)
  • 20 Toes to Bar (I did knees to elbows)
  • 10 Bar Over Burpees
  • 20 Toes to Bar
  • 30 Hang Cleans
  • 40 Wall Balls

W – 3.75 mile run, 8 min pace + CrossFit Carolina Beach. It was fun to visit another crossfit gym; they were super friendly and welcoming. The six minute rest in between each round drove me crazy, but I understand they were doing an specific type of interval workout to fully recover between each set. I just like to go go go. 🙂 This was my first time doing 24” box jumps; usually it’s 20” for women. That extra 4” messed with my head at first, but it just really forced me to focus.

  • 4 rounds with 6 minutes rest in between
    • 8 24” box jumps
    • 6 burpee
    • 4 Hang Power Cleans (75#)
    • Sled push for two lengths of the turf (I’m not good at eyeballing distances so I have no clue how far this was)

Crossfit Carolina Beach

Th – Ran 5.5 miles, 8:12 pace. I tried to go to yoga and then realized I was looking at the wrong day’s schedule. Oops. I ended up having an great run and saw an incredible sunset on the way home. I had to stop and just sit and watch for about 15 minutes before I finished up the last 1/2 mile back to my place.

Carolina Beach

F – Barre/Pilates Fusion at Forged Fitness + hit two buckets of golf balls 🙂

S – Double Leg Burner at-home WOD (details soon! I KICKED MY OWN BUTT) + 3.58 mile run, 8:32 pace

Su – Rest

    1. I love how full of variety your workout schedule is. I am really sick of the day to day drive to the gym, lift weights, drive home routine. I would love to get into running but I continue to have awful shin splints due to flat feet. Do you have any experience with shin splints or any joint pain with running?
